Top 10 reasons I love Maycee

Okay, as promised, here are the top 10 reasons that I love my little Mace-face... (and because Macs and blogger are not friends, I am not able to add any pictures to this post, but just know we have many and they are cute... )

Here we go...

10. I love that Maycee sleeps! She has slept 6 hours a night from day 1. She now sleeps about 12 hours and it gives me great gratitude in my long uninterrupted sleep.

9. I love that she isn't too picky. Our home is filled with people that all know what they want, and it is refreshing to have someone that is willing to go with the flow.

8. I love that Maycee also growls (much like her brother). She has a mean growl when she has had enough of something, and a nice growl when she gets really excited.

7. I love that Maycee has lots of beautiful hair. Even though you can't see it under her helmet, and we had to cut several inches off before she got her "party hat," it is still there and is so pretty!

6. I love that when you try to help hold Maycee's bottle, she first gently pats your hand as a reminder that she can do it herself. If you ignore her reminder, she begins slapping at you, and if you still ignore her, she moves to her mad growl and begins to kick you away until you let her be independent.

5. I love that Maycee loves her brother. She watches him with awe as he plays and anxiously awaits her turn to get some of his attention.

4. I love that Maycee loves to be held. Even though she will not cuddle in any way (boo-hoo for me...) she loves me or Ryan to hold her. She evens rubs my shoulder or pats my back while I tote her around.

3. I love the way Maycee claps.

2. I love that she lets me dress her up, and stick bright colored things on her head (bows) each day and rewards me with a smile whenever I look at her.

1. I love that she does things on her own time and in her own way. She is definitely her own Spirit, and I am grateful as well that Heavenly Father entrusted me to be her mom. I love you Maycee!

PS:  I asked Jaron to give me one reason he loves Mace and he said, "Because she is just my little princess, even though she sometimes scratches my face..."  Well said big brother!

Happy Birthday Wendi

Top 10 Reasons I love Jaron

Okay, so at our house this month we are focusing on thankful hearts. Each night at dinner we think of something we are each thankful for and then write it on a slip of paper and add it to our "thankful" chain. By the end of the month it should be pretty long. Jaron is even getting into it! (although I am trying not to take offense that each night when he is asked what he is thankful for he quickly answers "father"... when did he start calling Ryan father anyway???) We are trying to give him some other ideas of answers... maybe like mother??? :)

Anyway, I would like to take time to tell Jaron and Maycee the top 10 reasons I love them, so today this is for Jaron:

10. I love that when I go to put on my shoes (doesn't matter which ones) I generally find a small toy figure or dinosaur sleeping inside of them that Jaron has lovingly put to bed in the coziness of my shoe (never Ryan's mind you... just mine).

9. I love that he is working on being polite, when we have visitors stop by and Jaron (on his own) states "You are sure welcome to join us for dinner..."

8. I love that being any animal in the world is Jaron's favorite hobby. I love how into character he gets with his movements and sounds.

7. I love the excitement that rises all the way from his toes when I mention dad is on his way home from work. I love to see his anticipation as he sits on the front yard waiting and the way he runs (no... sprints) to the truck to growl and hug Ryan as he gets out.

6. I love that when I offer to come and play a game with him (I'm thinking like puzzles, books, chutes and ladders...) he ends up making me play Pongo and Perdita (from 101 Dalmations) and we have to crawl around and bark. I love how happy he is the whole time we are looking so ridiculous.

5. I love the way he laughs. Anyone that has heard is deep, belly laugh knows what I am talking about.

4. I love that he tells me EVERYTHING! He talks from sun up to sun down. He talks about traffic, weather, movies, church, dirt, cooking, friends, animals, bathroom topics, the elderly, computers... you name it... we have had the conversation. Sometimes, by the end of the day I forget to be thankful for this, but I am. I love to hear his thoughts! Even when he says them in Spanish.

3. I love that Jaron is so happy with his little sister... he is so quick to hug, kiss, and climb all over her. (Which she seems to love more than even Ryan or I...)

2. I love that Jaron thrills on making people laugh. He will practice in front of a mirror for hours on a particularly goofy face (usually learned from his dad) that will make someone laugh. He thrives on laughter and that can only be a good attribute!

1. I love his hugs and kisses, little words of praise to me, encouragement, and just the fact that Heavenly Father has loaned such a little Spirit to me to raise! I love that he is my kid!

Trick-or-Treat

Trick or Treat is Jaron's favorite phrase... What kid wouldn't like to only say those 3 words and then have everyone give them candy??? Seriously, best day ever for Jaron!

His holiday started with a parade and party at preschool... which he loves! It then ended with lots of visits to family and friends. In case you can't tell, Jaron was a buzzing bee and Maycee was a cat... (although her coat top was very hot and she didn't wear it most of the night.) I was also a bad mom and let her take her helmet off for like 3 hours so we could do her hair and see her cute little head. We are so happy at how well the helmet is working! Yeah...

Aren't sugar-hangovers great?
